新冠疫情中产生了大量的数据，必须要经过一定的处理。通过数据的收集、清洗、加工，使用机器学习、人工智能等算法，支持信息的关联&检索、接触者追踪、病情预测、疫情传播模型。从而帮助疫情防控制定相关政策。工信部在2020-02-04发布《充分发挥人工智能赋能效用-协力抗击新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎疫情倡议书》，主要有以下三个倡议点：一、呼吁人工智能企业和应用单位、上下游企业，尤其是人工智能产业创新重点任务入围揭榜企业能够在“疫情发现、预警、防治”等方面积极做出应有贡献。二、攻关并批量生产一批辅助诊断、快速测试、智能化设备、精准测温与目标识别等产品。三、优化AI算法和算力，助力病毒基因测序、疫苗、药物研发、蛋白筛选等药物研发攻关。从工信部倡议中可以看出，人工智能在抗击新型冠状病毒肺炎中能够发挥巨大贡献，政府也非常积极来推动企业关于人工智能疫情防控的相关产品的研发。
